Who We Are

Raasi Ahmar Fishing Company was founded and incorporated in the Puntland State of Somalia in 1997 by Mr. Said Mohamed Muse, the Founder and CEO. He comes from a long family line of fishermen and has more than 30 years of experience in the fishing industry. RAFCO has been operating in Puntland for over two decades, supplying various fish products to local markets across the Puntland State of Somalia. The company has a medium-term strategy to expand its business operations into other states of Somalia, as well as to establish overseas trading relationships with relevant international trading companies in the long run.

Somalia has one of the longest coastlines in mainland Africa and is home to some of the richest fishing grounds on the continent. We source the finest fresh fish from the Indian Ocean as well as the Red Sea. Our supply comes from both mid-water and deep-sea fishing, allowing us to offer a diverse range of fish species, including tuna (all species), kingfish, sardines, mackerel, cuttlefish, squid, shark, groupers, red snapper, and many more high-quality fish varieties. We have a strong operational base, staffed by a skilled team with local knowledge and extensive contacts along the Somali coast. Most importantly, we have access to a reliable network of local fishing boats that land their catch regularly and exclusively with us. This enables us to provide the freshest fish directly from the boats. We maintain a strict focus on product quality and excellent customer service. We understand the importance of supplying our customers with the right quality, at the right price, and at the right time. We also maintain close and cordial relationships with some of East Africa’s largest logistics companies, enabling us to provide fast and efficient logistics solutions. This ensures timely delivery of our products to target markets with minimal delay and inconvenience for our customers.
